
A man and a woman were arrested following an armed carjacking in Waterbury on Sunday that led to a police chase into Naugatuck.
Officers in Waterbury responded to Pine Street and Bishop Street for a report of an armed carjacking around 3:30 p.m.

A man reported that while sitting in his vehicle, he was approached by an unknown man who showed a gun and stole his vehicle. No injuries were reported.
About two hours later, police said they found the stolen vehicle near South Main Street and Platts Mill Road.

When officers attempted to stop the vehicle, they said the driver did not stop and that led to a pursuit onto Route 8 southbound.
The vehicle got off the highway near Great Hill Road in Naugatuck, where authorities said it lost control and crashed into a wall off the road.
Connecticut State Police and Naugatuck police took 28-year-old Juwan Butler into custody.

- Illegal Transfer of a Firearm
- Criminal Possession of a Firearm
- Reckless Endangerment 1st Degree
- Possession Of Drug Paraphernalia
- Carrying A Pistol Without a Permit
- Interfering/Resisting with An Office
- Criminal Negligent Storage of a Firearm
- Larceny of a Motor Vehicle - 2nd Offense
- Conspiracy To Commit Robbery 1st Degree
- Illegal Possession of Weapons in a Motor Vehicle
- Possession With Intent to Sell Narcotics - 4 Counts
Butler is a convicted felon and is prohibited from posessing a firearm or ammunition, police said. He was held on $1.5 million bond and was scheduled to appear in court on Monday.

Police also arrested a 20-year-old woman who was a passenger in the car. Adrianna Carrasquillo was charged with interfering with an officer, possession with intent to sell marijuana, and first-degree conspiracy to commit robbery. She was held on $500,000 bond and was also scheduled to appear in court on Monday.
